Come attend the free day-long ContentBox workshop, being held the day before IntotheBox, as we will walk through converting an existing CFML-based website (one which you may recognize) into ContentBox, including the steps from scratch, the benefits, and available features and options to really empower and improve most any site.
For those following me, know that I have spoken at previous Into The Box conferences, and this year is no different. Into the Box conference, has expanded in 2017, from 1 day of conference content, to 2 days of conference content + 1 day of workshops. Ortus Solutions are hosting Into The Box 2017 in Houston Texas in April. Wednesday the 26th has 5 great workshops, Thursday April 27th and Friday 28th are 2 full days of great conference sessions, with 2 tracks to choose from… over 30 sessions.

Ortus Solutions is happy to be an active member of the ColdFusion / CFML community, one way we contribute to the community is with opensource, another is continued education and training. After successful bootcamps, trainings, and online conferences, Ortus Solutions created their own conference, IntoTheBox in 2014. After 3 years in MN, the day prior to CF.Objective() ( also knows as dev.Objective() ), its time for IntoTheBox to make some big changes and go out on its own. ITB 2017 has a lot of changes, read more to find out all the details.
Several years ago, my company and I spent time reevaluating the ColdFusion community, searching for a framework with great tooling, lots of documentation, training and professional support. We found that with Ortus Solutions and ColdBox. After a bootcamp, I started contributing however I could, a little code, some documentation, online presentations, conference sessions. At first, diving into Open Source was scary, but when you dip your toes to test the water, you realize its warm, like our ColdFusion community, and Ortus is no different. Over time I have done more and more with Ortus's many open source projects, but that is nothing in comparison to what everyone else has done.
Recently, Ortus Solutions, with their many projects, passed a milestone.
Ortus Developer Week 2016 started yesterday, Monday November 14th 2016 with a bang. We had Raymond Camden talking about Static Web Site generators, and all 4 sessions had great attendance. Today, Tuesday the 15th is going to be another action packed day of presentations. For those those have not heard of ODW, it is a series of FREE and live webinars hosted by the Ortus Team and seasoned developers from around the world. These sessions will cover software development, web and mobile, and usage of any of our open source and commercial products. After a busy conference season, ODW gives you 1 more action packed week of sessions, enjoyable without travel & TSA, all from the comfort of your own office. If the sessions are too distracting to watch while you work, we record all the sessions, and make them available for later viewing as well.

Having presented at all 3 previous Ortus Developer Weeks ( although the first was called ColdBox Developer Week ), I'm excited to be presenting and attending ODW again this year. I always look forward to a week of learning.
This year is a little different, with the CFML Conference season starting in June, and not May. Dev.Objective() changed their date, and Into the Box followed suite to give us an action packed week of materials. I am excited to be presenting at both conferences again, and getting to talk with all of my old friends, and make some new ones while I am there.
