Presentation - 3 ways to test your ColdFusion API - at CF Summit 2017

Conferences, Javascript, Online Interactive Learning, Unit Testing

CF Summit 2017 was a lot of fun, lots of new faces, and good to meet friends, old and new alike. I really enjoyed the ColdBox 2 day training, RESTFul Training Bootcamp. I also enjoyed, Pete Freitag's Hands On CFML Security Workshop. It was fun, and terrifying at the same time. My session on 3 ways to test your ColdFusion API went well, lots of interest, and lots of discussion after the class. I am sharing my slides in this post, as well as a collection of other Video Presentations from previous presentations by myself, and others, which will help build upon the information presented.

Angular, Conferences, IntoTheBox, Javascript, Tools and IDEs, Unit Testing

Ortus Developer Week 2016 started yesterday, Monday November 14th 2016 with a bang. We had Raymond Camden talking about Static Web Site generators, and all 4 sessions had great attendance. Today, Tuesday the 15th is going to be another action packed day of presentations. For those those have not heard of ODW, it is a series of FREE and live webinars hosted by the Ortus Team and seasoned developers from around the world. These sessions will cover software development, web and mobile, and usage of any of our open source and commercial products. After a busy conference season, ODW gives you 1 more action packed week of sessions, enjoyable without travel & TSA, all from the comfort of your own office. If the sessions are too distracting to watch while you work, we record all the sessions, and make them available for later viewing as well.

June already? That means I have 3 sessions at 2 conferences in 2 weeks

CFML Language, cfObjective, Conferences, Dev.Objective, IntoTheBox, Javascript, Server Admin, Unit Testing

This year is a little different, with the CFML Conference season starting in June, and not May. Dev.Objective() changed their date, and Into the Box followed suite to give us an action packed week of materials. I am excited to be presenting at both conferences again, and getting to talk with all of my old friends, and make some new ones while I am there.

Free Online Live Presentations - Ortus Developer Week Starts Today

ColdBox, CommandBox, Conferences, Ionic, Javascript, Lucee, Mobile Development, Online Interactive Learning

After 3 years of ColdBox Developer Week, the name has changed, but the concept is still the same. Ortus Solutions is putting on another Developer Week, with 21 great sessions, all online, free, and live so you can interact, and will be recorded as well in case you cannot make them all. Ortus Solution is involved with so much more than just ColdBox now, so changing the name made sense, as there are sessions from representatives from IBM, Google, Ionic and lots of great community contributions. Today Monday November the 16th, 2015, is the first day, lets see what sessions we have coming up.

Post Conference - Session Review - How do I Write Testable Javascript?

Conferences, Dev.Objective, Javascript, jQuery, Unit Testing

dev.Objective() has come and gone, and like my Cordova Hooks session, I wanted to write a review of the session, and provide some additional information for those who attended, or those who wanted to attend. The conference was a blast, lots of great info, lots of great people, one of my highlights of the year... so many talented people, and whether you are in the sessions, or in the hallways, there is always something to learn. I submitted this session because although there is a lot of great information on testing, sometimes the hardest steps are the first steps, and most people are live and breathe testing, forget the first few steps, and how many stumbling points they ran across from. Hopefully this session will help everyone get started with Javascript testing.
