Day 3 - Ortus Developer Week 2016 - Wednesday Nov 16, 2016

Conferences, ContentBox, Unit Testing

Ortus Developer Week 2016 has over 225 registered users already this year, and the number keeps growing daily. The first 2 days this week had some great sessions, including a mix of Box Products, REST, front end Javascript & UI, Static Site Generators, Testing and even Database Scaling. Today we have 4 more interesting sessions coming at you. Box and Beyond Q&A, RESTful APIs, Testing Automation, and Market Automation for Coldbox / ContentBox Developers. I guess today is another day where I won't get a lot of work done, as I'm glued to my screen watching these sessions. They are recorded as well, so you can always catch them after the fact if needed as well.

For those those have not heard of ODW, it is a series of FREE and live webinars hosted by the Ortus Team and seasoned developers from around the world. These sessions will cover software development, web and mobile, and usage of any of our open source and commercial products. After a busy conference season, ODW gives you 1 more action packed week of sessions, enjoyable without travel & TSA, all from the comfort of your own office. If the sessions are too distracting to watch while you work, we record all the sessions, and make them available for later viewing as well.

Box and Beyond: Q & A with Team Ortus — presented by TEAM
Talk to the team behind the Box Products, find out what is coming down the pipe, and let them know what you're wanting to see from your favorite Ortus / Box product.

RESTful APIs using *Box Products — presented by Evagoras Charalambus
Evagoras will show us how the range of Box products can be used to help build a RESTful API. I am really looking forward to the examples, as highlighted in the topic description

Pragmatic, real world examples will be used to highlight solutions to common issues like API versioning, Request validation and correct type serialization.

Testing Automation — presented by Luis Majano
The master of testing himself, Luis will dive a little deeper into this advanced session, where you can see how TestBox and Continuous Integration (CI) Tools can help you automate your testing. This session will touch on Jenkins, Travis CI, Node runners, Grunt Watchers, and a few others. For those not doing CI, or not a ninja, this will be a great session for you. I'll be there

Market Automation for ColdBox / ContentBox Developers — presented by John Farrar
John is excited about the 3.0 release of ContentBox, and the future it offers developers. John will show us how Market Automation can help push us forward. Really interested in seeing what John has to show us.

Another 4 top quality sessions coming at us. If you can make it to the live session, get your questions answered, or tune it after the session for the recording, either way, these 4 great sessions are well worth watching.

As announced yesterday, we are happy to announce a bonus session on Friday, so we have 5 sessions instead of 4 on Friday.
The bonus session is: Ionic 2: More Framework, More Hybrid, More Better
Presented by Ionic Developer AdvocateL Alex Muramoto

Remember, there are daily raffles, which you must register for ODW through EventBrite to go into the draw. By doing so, we can send you session reminders, and last minute updates right to your email. That might be important, as the winter bugs are starting to creep in, we always had to switch a couple of sessions.

Watch our for an preview of Thursdays sessions coming out later today.
8 sessions down, 13 left, lots of great content left to come.
Hope to see you in the chat.
